Album Review: Idina Menzel: Holiday Wishes (2014)

It's been a great year for Broadway star Idina Menzel, due in no small part to a certain animated movie called Frozen. The voice of Elsa in that Disney movie was previously best known for her roles in Wicked, Glee and Rent, but it now seems that the world is quite comfortable knowing her as the woman who sings "Let It Go". From her memorable Oscar performance to her return to the Broadway stage in this year's If/Then, Menzel is currently one of Hollywood's favorite new faces.
Not that she wasn't in the spotlight before her Frozen days, it's just that when you are the face of arguably the most popular animated musical of all time, you are everywhere.

Menzel has previously dabbled in pop music; she has released three studio albums in the early 2000s. This year, the snow queen (as she has come to be known) releases her first Christmas collection, the secularly titled Holiday Wishes.
